Sónar AI Performance Playground

Propagation is an audiovisual performance that navigates the space between chaotic noise generated by no-input mixers and the structured rhythms of drums. The work explores non-solutionist approaches to performing music with AI—moving away from normative uses of deep learning to investigate the fringes of timbre transfer models and the role of neural networks within feedback chains.
The visuals, grounded in my not so AI-based artistic practice, intentionally avoid forcing AI technologies into the process. Instead, they are conceptually connected to the themes of the performance, allowing for a clearer understanding and reflection on one’s own artistic methods.

Propagation was developed and premiered during the 4-Day AI Performance Playground at Sónar Festival in Barcelona, in collaboration with fellow participants Dan Xu, Noni-Mouse, Teresa Pelinski, Keigo Yoshida, and Matthias Schäfer.
